May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to bring attention to something that affects all of us in some way: our emotional well-being.
Mental health is part of everyday life. It impacts how we handle stress, connect with others, show up at work, care for our families, and move through difficult seasons. For some, mental health challenges are quiet and unseen. For others, they are part of a daily journey that requires support, treatment, community, and understanding.
This month is a reminder that mental health deserves the same care and attention as physical health. Checking in on someone, encouraging a loved one to seek support, creating space for honest conversations, and reducing the stigma around mental health can all make a difference.
It is also a reminder to check in with ourselves. Rest, boundaries, connection, movement, therapy, and asking for help are not signs of weakness. They are important parts of caring for our overall health.
As we recognize Mental Health Awareness Month, let’s continue to create a culture where people feel seen, supported, and reminded that they are not alone.
If you or someone you know is struggling or in crisis, call or text 988 or chat with the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline for support.
