Dear Partners and Friends,
As we recognize Alzheimer’s Awareness Month, I wanted to take a moment to highlight a cause that touches millions of families including my own.
Alzheimer’s is not only a disease of memory, but of families, caregivers, and communities navigating its many challenges each day. For those affected, every moment holds meaning, and every act of support makes a difference.
It’s also important to remember that many people continue to live rich, meaningful lives while living with Alzheimer’s. At every stage, we can continue to celebrate who our loved ones are, honoring their stories, their spirit, and the moments of joy along the way.
Why This Awareness Month Matters
● Alzheimer’s impacts over 6 million Americans today, with numbers expected to rise significantly in the coming years.
● Families are often at the center of care, providing time, resources, and emotional strength through a journey that can span years.
● Increased awareness leads to greater understanding, earlier interventions, stronger caregiver support, and ultimately hope for better treatments and a cure.
How We Can All Play a Role
While not all of us are researchers or medical professionals, each of us has the opportunity to advocate, support, and contribute:
● Raise awareness within your own circles, helping to reduce stigma and open conversation.
● Support caregivers who often carry a heavy emotional and physical burden.
● Advocate for funding and research to advance treatments and improve care. A simple action you can take today: alz-action.quorum.us/campaign/fy26approps/?utm_source=Email
● Honor loved ones by wearing purple this month and sharing your stories.
Moving Forward with Hope
While Alzheimer’s remains one of the most complex health challenges of our time, research continues to make promising strides. Every voice, every conversation, and every contribution helps us move closer to better solutions for those living with Alzheimer’s and their families.
Thank you for taking a moment this month to join in this important conversation.
Warm regards,
April Sage
