GENERAL FAQ'S
- What does a senior care advisor do?
- A senior care advisor helps families find the most appropriate living and care solution for their aging loved ones. At Senior Housing Advisory Services, we provide personalized guidance based on medical needs, lifestyle preferences, and financial circumstances. We simplify the process by helping you understand your options, coordinating with communities, and supporting you every step of the way.
- How much do your services cost?
- Our initial consultations are completely free. In many cases, our placement services are also free to families, as we are compensated by the senior living communities we work with. If a situation requires more extensive consulting or support outside of placement, any fees will be discussed clearly and up front—no surprises.
- What types of care do you help with?
- We specialize in helping families navigate the full range of senior care options, including:
- Memory Care
- Assisted Living
- Adult Homes
- In-Home Care
Each option is tailored to different levels of medical, emotional, and social needs, and we help you determine which is the best fit. - Do you only work with certain communities?
- No, we are not tied to a limited list and work throughout the Tacoma area and beyond. We work with a wide network of reputable communities and care providers, but our recommendations are based solely on what’s best for your loved one. Our goal is to find the right fit, not just fill a bed.
- How quickly can you help us find care?
- We understand that some situations are urgent, and we’re prepared to move quickly when needed. Depending on availability and your loved one’s needs, we can often help you identify viable options within 24–72 hours. For families planning ahead, we take a more measured and strategic approach.
- Do you meet with the senior and the family separately?
- Yes, when appropriate. We often find that seniors and their family members may have different concerns or priorities. Meeting separately allows everyone to speak openly, helping us make the most informed recommendation possible.
- Can you help with financial planning for senior care?
- Absolutely. While we don’t offer financial services ourselves, we help you understand care costs, explore payment options, and connect you with resources such as long-term care insurance, VA benefits, or Medicaid programs. We make sure your decisions are both caring and financially sustainable.
- What happens after my loved one moves in?
- We stay in touch. April will follow up with both your loved one and your family at key intervals after placement to ensure the transition is smooth. If any issues arise, we’re here to advocate for you and help make adjustments if needed. Your peace of mind is our priority.
